Encouraging the development of skills in design, fabrication, construction and restoration of farm, ranch and recreational equipment is the main purpose of the Jr. Agricultural Mechanics Show. Texas 4-H and FFA members, working under the supervision of instructors and adult leaders, build or restore projects to compete in the following class divisions:

- Livestock Equipment
- Outdoor Recreational & Convenience
- Wildlife Equipment
- Trailers
- Farm & Ranch Restoration
