2027 Scramblers

Run in the dirt under the bright lights at Dickies Arena.
Entry applications must be signed by the County Extension Agent or Agricultural Science Teacher to be considered complete.
20 students compete, with 10 students winning per performance.
Each student who does not catch a calf will receive a free pair of Justin Boots, courtesy of the Justin Boot Company.
Each of the 230 winners will be issued a $500 Purchase Certificate to use toward the purchase of a registered Beef or Dairy Heifer.

New Entry Process

Attention: New Entry Process. Please carefully review the steps below. Students will now initiate the application process.

Student Applies

Each student must complete and submit their Official Calf Scramble Entry Application online.

Parent / Guardian

Once submitted, the application will automatically be sent to the student's parent or guardian for review and required signatures.

AST / CEA Review

The application will then automatically be sent to the Agricultural Science Teacher or County Extension Agent for review, updates and signature.

Application Completion Requirement

The application will not be considered complete until the AST or CEA has reviewed and signed the application. Once the AST or CEA signs, the application will be marked as complete and submitted to the Calf Scramble Office for processing.

Participant & Alternate Designations

Each application must be designated as either a Participant or Alternate by the AST or CEA. As stated in the General Rules and Regulations, the required Participant-to-Alternate ratio is:

Scheduling

If a chapter has more applicants designated as Participants than can be scheduled for a performance, the Calf Scramble Office reserves the right to change an applicant's status from Participant to Alternate in order to accommodate scheduling needs.

Calf Scramble Performances

The Calf Scramble is held during 23 rodeo performances:

2 Best of the West Ranch Rodeo performances
Cowboys of Color Rodeo
2 Bulls' Night Out performances
FWSSR PRORODEO Rookie Rally
17 FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament performances running January 15 through February 6

There will not be a Calf Scramble during Best of Mexico Celebración on January 17 or the FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament Finals on February 6.

Rodeo Tickets for Calf Scramble Supervisors, Kids & Family Members

It is not necessary for students, parents or supervisors to purchase rodeo tickets or grounds passes to view the Calf Scramble. A one-day grounds pass will be provided for the student.

The pass will allow admittance to the Stock Show Grounds. After the Pre-Scramble Meeting, the Calf Scramble Committee will escort the group to the designated areas inside Dickies Arena prior to the Calf Scramble.

After the Post-Scramble Meeting, the Calf Scramble Committee will escort the students to the viewing area to rejoin their families and/or supervisors.

For those who wish to attend the entire rodeo performance, they can remain in the viewing area or purchase rodeo tickets through FWSSR.com or by calling (817) 502-0011. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and no complimentary seating will be provided.
