calling all young texas artists!

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is now accepting entries in the 2022 Stock Show Art Contest through Nov. 13th.
Test your artistic abilities for the chance to win some cool prizes, cash, and scholarships! Not enrolled in an art class? No problem. We take entries from individuals or from your art class teacher. Speaking of art teachers, we've got a division for art classes, too. And you could win $5,000 in art supplies for your classroom.

Deadline for the 2021 art contest is nov. 13

Art entry deadline is 5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021. No late entries accepted.
Art Entry Drop Off: The FWSSR office is located across the street from Cattle Barn 1 in the Will Rogers Memorial Complex, 3400 Burnett-Tandy Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76107.
Mailed Entry: Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, c/o Stock Show Art Contest, 3400 Burnett-Tandy Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76107. NO ART ENTRIES WILL BE RETURNED BY MAIL.

Subject/theme:

When creating works to enter, please take the following guidelines into consideration:
Traditional, abstract, realism, contemporary, or impressionism styles that depicts or expresses the culture of Texas and western environments, both contemporary and historical.
Some examples include but are not limited to:
  • Texas landscapes
  • Wildlife,
  • Livestock,
  • Agriculture & horticulture
  • Ranching and farming activities,
  • Iconic Fort Worth scenes
  • Legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo
  • People and animals working and playing in everyday western environments

Art Teacher Caps Successful Career

Saluting Granbury High School Art Teacher Mike Tabor.

Since 2011, no teacher has experienced greater success at the FWSSR’s Art Contest than Mike Tabor Winning eight of the last nine high school classroom division competitions, his students have hauled in $12,000 for Granbury High School to purchase much needed equipment and supplies for the program. In addition, his students have also taken two individual grand championships and a combined total of $20,000 in scholarships. After a 27-year career, the teacher, who is also an accomplished artist himself, will retire next spring.
