Free Educational Entertainment
In addition to the many events listed on our Special Activities Schedule and Daily Events Calendar we have several attractions on the grounds for your entertainment; free of charge with your Stock Show grounds admission. Bring your family out and stop by to see the following:
FFA Children’s Barnyard – Join us behind the red barn to see mother animals and their offspring first-hand. You will see all kinds of animals from day-old chicks, mama pigs with their babies to baby lambs and newborn calves. Local FFA student volunteers are on hand to answer your questions. FFA Children’s Barnyard is located between the Sheep & Swine Barn and is open between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. daily.
Petting Zoo – The Bank of Texas Petting Zoo is a professionally operated, hands-on experience. It’s always a huge hit with our younger visitors. The petting zoo is educational and informative, but your average toddler will probably tell you …it’s just plain fun. The Bank of Texas Petting Zoo is located in front of the Will Rogers Coliseum and is open between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily.
Milking Parlor – Live Milking Demonstrations! This is a must-see for all Stock Show visitors. Where does milk REALLY come from? It’s worth the stop to see the little ones faces as they see where the morning milk starts out! The Milking Parlor is located inside between Cattle Barns 1 and 2 and the hours of operation vary – exhibit open daily 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Planet Agriculture – presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance – this incredible exhibit is a walk-through, interactive display that reconnects participants with farming and ranching and demonstrates agriculture’s daily involvement in their lives – well beyond the necessities of food and clothing. Produced by the Texas Farm Bureau, visitors learn about animal by-products and even witness cotton being ginned. With the Texas Farm Bureau’s staff and a host of other knowledgeable folks active in education and agriculture, your questions won’t go unanswered. Planet Agriculture is located in the South Exhibit Hall, between Cattle Barn 1 and Sheep Barn and is open between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily.
Ag Awareness “TAF Magic Show – presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance – the Ag Awareness “TAF Magic Show is entertaining and educational for children as well as adults and is dedicated to creating a positive image of the American Farmer. The program completely engages children and adult to help make the magic happen and tests their agricultural knowledge. The Ag Awareness “TAF Magic Show presenters write and design each presentation to spotlight local Ag production and the importance of farmers. Ag Awareness “TAF Magic Show is located in the South Exhibit Hall, between Cattle Barn 1 and Sheep Barn in front of Planet Agriculture with shows daily.
Star-Telegram Stock Show Art Contest – You don’t have to raise livestock to participate in the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. Young Artists show off their talents in the new Star-Telegram Stock Show Art Contest! Youth ages 5-18 are competing for over $20,000 in scholarships, cash and prizes. Placing art is displayed in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall Concourse throughout the entire Stock Show starting at 8:00 a.m. daily with additional selected qualifying entries being displayed in the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame through February 9. Stock Show grounds admission will gain you access to both Museums as part of the new “Moo-seum experience”. All entries in the contest must be submitted by December 3.
