Contestants vying for elusive Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo titles
FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 2, 2026) – Winning a championship at the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is on nearly every contestant’s bucket list. Accomplishing that goal is often harder than it would seem.
Just ask Riley Webb and Kassie Mowry. Webb, from Denton, Texas, is a three-time world champion tie-down roper, but despite those three consecutive titles, the championship here has eluded him.
Mowry, a two-time world champion, has set record after record in barrel racing. The Dublin, Texas resident has won titles at most of the major rodeos, except the one nearly in her backyard in Dickies Arena.
They both won buckles in Las Vegas this past December for being the world’s best and they both competed here for the first time this year on Monday night in Bracket 7. They both finished at the top of the leaderboard by winning the round.
Webb stopped the clock in 7.6 seconds, just four-tenths of a second off the arena record. He added $2,500 to his 2026 earnings and is looking to be a four-time world champion.
Mowry was riding her great horse, Force The Goodbye that rodeo fans know as Jarvis, around the three barrels here. When she and Jarvis exited the arena, the clock said 16.16, fast enough for the win. Mowry also collected $2,500.
Damian Brennan came from Australia to further his education at Western Texas College in Snyder. In 2022, he joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and finished 16th in the world, one spot out of a National Finals Rodeo (NFR) qualification.
The next year, he tied for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association championship and made his first appearance at the NFR. The very next February, he was earning the championship here. Brennan put himself in contention for another Fort Worth title this year.
He won the first round of Bracket 7 with an 88-point ride on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Midnight Train. He added $2,500 to his season earnings and hopes to continue doing that.
All these contestants will have their second round of competition in Bracket 7 on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. This is the final bracket of this year’s tournament and the last chance for contestants to advance to the Wild Card or Semi-Finals rounds.
Tuesday is Texas Tech Day at the Stock Show. Those wearing Texas Tech apparel receive free grounds admission.
