Bulls Night Out Thrills and Entertains
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – For many fans, the anticipation of the bull riding is what keeps the excitement going at a rodeo. For fans who want nothing but ride after ride of
Heart-pounding bull riding action, the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show’s Bulls Night Out is definitely the ticket. The thrill-a-minute event, sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association, will be held January 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Will Rogers Coliseum.
“We strive to provide fans what they want and clearly top notch bull riding action is part of the answer,” said Bradford S. Barnes, Stock Show executive vice president / general manager. “Gathering up the best bulls in the business is ‘job one’ for our stock contractor, Rafter G Rodeo Company, and our riders are the PRCA’s elite.”
Each performance features 40 riders in a first go-round, then the top 12 scores come back for a second mount. A champion is crowned each of the two nights. Also a crowd pleaser is the “Justin Mutton Bustin” featuring local youngsters in a sheep riding contest that awards the winner a trophy and other prizes. The other aspiring rodeo stars win a pair of Justin boots.
A long bull riding tradition exists at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. First introduced at the Stock Show in 1920, “Brahman Bull Riding” was a big hit and rodeo’s most exciting event was launched. Over the years rough bulls and tough cowboys have thrilled crowds with great rides that have made the Stock Show’s rodeo legendary.
