Stock Show's “Best of Mexico Celebración” Highlights Local Talent

Fort Worth, Texas - Fort Worth’s ties to the Hispanic community are uniquely illustrated at the “Best of Mexico Celebración” held during the legendary Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show on January 13 and 14. Many local charros, musicians and folklorico dancers will participate in the fiesta-style production both evenings at 7:30.

“We’ve found the local talent here to be very strong,” said Bradford S. Barnes, Stock Show executive vice president / general manager. “Some of Texas’ best charros, mariachis and dancers are located right here in the Fort Worth area thus the ‘Best of Mexico Celebración’ will be a display of talent you won’t want to miss.”

The event melds the romance and beauty of mariachis, singing and dance with the impressive talents of the Mexican charro. Thrilling the crowds with their daring displays of skills, charros led by Manuel Oropeza, Jr. and Las Asociación Charros de Fort Worth, will perform acts including the Pass of Death, requiring a rider to leap from his mount to an unbridled galloping horse, and a trick roping act featuring five ropers performing simultaneously. Fort Worth’s own Mariachi Jalisciense, Danza Izcalli Cultural and La Guadalupana will also entertain the crowds with their unique styles of music, dancing and riding. Rounding out the performance will be San Antonio recording artist Kasie Luna, an emerging Latino music star. The “Best of Mexico Celebración” will again be presented by Univision and Coors Light.
