Affordable Entertainment Available at Stock Show
FORT WORTH, TEXAS - Grounds admission - $8, parking - $6, BBQ sandwich, chips and a soft drink - $8.50. Enjoying a fun afternoon at the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show – priceless. When compared to other local entertainment venues, experiencing the legendary Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show is likely the best value in the Metroplex. Grounds admission to the Stock Show (children between ages 6 and 16 is only $4, 5 and under are free) gives visitors a plethora of activities to experience at no extra charge.
“Not only is the Stock Show a family friendly option, it’s also friendly on the wallet,” said Bradford S. Barnes, executive vice president of the Stock Show. “There are several fun things to see and do for free, once you’ve entered the grounds.”
The Frost Stage, located in the Roundup Inn at the Amon Carter, Jr. Exhibits Building, features numerous musical acts to choose from. Headlining the musical acts is local country and western recording artist Sonny Burgess on January 29 and The Quebe Sisters Band, three fantastic fiddlers from Burleson on January 22. Another fun-packed musical venue is the Stock Show Showdown. Join 95.9 The Ranch and 92.1 Country Legends on January 15, 16, 23, 24, 30 and 31 for the hottest talent search around. This will be the second year for the toe-tapping, handclapping event. Twelve acoustic acts will compete for box seats at the rodeo, studio recording time and numerous other prizes. Other acts gracing the Frost Stage include: Ramon Vargas, Jr., January 20; Carolina Imperial, January 27; and Gema Bonita, February 3.
Other entertaining and educational venues for general admission visitors include the PlainsCapital Bank Petting Zoo, Planet Agriculture presented by TXU Energy, the Milking Parlor and FFA Children’s Barnyard. Also, over 22,000 horses, cattle, sheep, goats and other livestock are being exhibited and shown over the remainder of the 24-day show. Free entertainment and all information you need to enjoy the Stock Show can be found on the website at www.fwssr.com. “Rodeo ticket holders can also access the grounds and all free entertainment the day of their performance,” said Barnes, “for the price of a rodeo ticket, you’ll receive everything mentioned in addition to one of our action-packed rodeo performances, so come out and enjoy the day.”
