Stock Show Enhances Efforts to Accommodate Visitors
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Anticipating great weather and large crowds, management of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo are making preparations to accommodate heavy traffic and strong demand for parking for the upcoming event at the Will Rogers Complex. The 112th annual Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show is slated for January 11 through February 3.
“Knowing traffic patterns have changed due to the construction of the new Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, we’re working to educate our visitors about the measures we’re taking to accommodate them, especially on our busier days” said Bradford S. Barnes, Stock Show executive vice president and general manager.
Stock Show management is highlighting four steps to help assure visitors easy access the Stock Show grounds.
1) Logistical Management: Stock Show officials are developing an enhanced plan with the Fort Worth Police Department to manage heavy traffic loads. The group is studying traffic patterns and making adjustments to help ensure orderly traffic flow and parking accommodations.
2) Stock Show Shuttle Service: Enjoying a stress free ride and drop off at the front gate to the Will Rogers Complex is an option that is appealing to more Stock Show patrons each year. Available weekends - every half hour from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. - visitors can park in the parking lots at Billy Bob’s Texas or Ridgmar Mall (near Macy’s) and ride on the “T” for only $1 each way or ride free with a rail/bus transit pass, monthly pass or EPass.
3) University of North Texas Health Science Center Parking Facility: Conveniently located one and a half blocks north of the main entry to the Will Rogers Complex, patrons can access the Health Science Center Parking Facility at 3400 Camp Bowie Blvd. Open for Stock Show visitors on Saturdays and Sundays with parking attendants and security officers on duty, the 650-space facility is an excellent user-friendly option.
4) Website: The general information section of the Stock Show’s website www.fwssr.com provides guests with maps and other helpful information on parking options, shuttle service and driving directions to make a visitor’s experience pleasant.
“We believe we have a sound plan in place to accommodate expected traffic and parking demands,” said Barnes. “The convenience of the shuttle service and the University of North Texas Health Science Center Parking Facility are options we hope visitors will utilize for an enjoyable Stock Show experience.”
