NEW ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR STOCK SHOW VISITORS

Providing visitors with wholesome entertainment and educational experiences has been a Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo hallmark for 110 years. Maintaining the time-tested attractions, while introducing new activities has been key to the show’s continued popularity. Some new features have been added for the 111th show that will prove to be “don’t miss” events for visitors.

Chris Cox - Equine “clinicians” have become very popular to new and experienced horse enthusiasts alike and the Stock Show is proud to bring noted clinician, Chris Cox, to the Ranching Heritage Weekend on Sunday, January 14 at 10:30 a.m. Demonstrating the handle and control of the ranch horse, Chris will illustrate how his unique methods can help anyone with their horsemanship skills.

Frost Bank Stage in the Roundup Inn - A variety of musical performers is being slated to ensure the new Frost Bank Stage is hopping. Acts booked thus far include the Quebe Sisters Band. Featuring intricate triple fiddles and vintage style three part harmony, these young ladies are simply awesome. The Quebe Sisters Band is scheduled each Tuesday evening throughout the Show. If the elegance and style of dance better suits your fancy then won’t want to miss Ballet Folklorico de Fort Worth. This group of young dancers embrace their heritage and proudly display that with terrific choreography and colorful fashion. Additional acts with a Mexican flair include El Charro Juan Diaz, Corolina Imperial and Norma Valle. Each of these musicians are presented by Univision.

If you’re looking to check out the new and upcoming “Texas Music” acts, the Frost Bank State will also feature the 95.9 The Ranch, Stock Show Showdown. Stock Show Showdown will feature entertainment each Wednesday evening with a singer/songwriter contest. Stock Show Goes Pink - For many North Texans, the effort to bring awareness and eventually a cure for breast cancer is a high priority. On Monday, January 22 “Stock Show Goes Pink” will be a special day to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and honor breast cancer survivors.

Fifty percent of all general admission and rodeo ticket sales from the day’s events will be donated to this worthy cause. Breast cancer survivors will be provided free Stock Show admission and rodeo tickets for Stock Show Goes Pink day and all stock show attendees and participants will be encouraged to wear pink. These courageous individuals, their families and friends will also be entitled to the “Pink Ribbon Roundup” – a reception honoring breast cancer survivors - that evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. To inquire about free admission and rodeo tickets or to RSVP to the Pink Ribbon Roundup, please call the Komen Foundation at (817) 735-8580.

An added attraction to the World’s Original Indoor Rodeo this year will be the sport of team roping. Heading and heeling has been added to the event lineup during each of the 30 action-packed performances. This will be the second year that team roping has been a part of the Stock Show’s professional rodeo, but the first year it will be a part of the action in the Will Rogers Coliseum.

Now in its 111th year, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo features entertainment events for the entire family, including livestock shows and educational experiences. Scheduled for January 12 – February 4, this year’s other highlights include: the Ranching Heritage Weekend featuring the “Best of the West” Ranch Rodeo, the AQHA Best of the Remuda Sale and the Invitational Ranch Horse Show and Sale; “Best of Mexico Celebración,” showcasing the richness of Mexican vaquero tradition; “Bulls Night Out” PRCA extreme bull riding; and 30 exciting performances of the World’s Original Indoor Rodeo.
