STOCK SHOW RECEIVES CONTINUED SUPPORT FROM MAJOR SPONSORS

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Support from several local and national corporations has been committed to the 2007 Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show. WFAA-TV Channel 8, Farm Credit, Williamson-Dickie, GMC and the Star-Telegram have agreed to support the show as major sponsors. The continued commitment of these sponsors allows the Stock Show to provide an outstanding and affordable western heritage experience that everyone can enjoy.

“We are extremely fortunate to have corporate citizens who support our Show by donating goods, services and financial support,” said the Show’s president and manager W.R. Watt, Jr. “Thanks to our sponsors, the Stock Show offers 24 days of quality family entertainment and education.”

New to the Stock Show line-up of sponsors is Farm Credit. Farm Credit provides operating credit lines for crop and livestock producers as well as long-term real estate loans for residential, recreational and agricultural purposes.

WFAA-TV (Channel 8) has been the official television sponsor of the Fort Worth Stock Show since 2001. News 8 is the area's ABC affiliate and the leading television source for local breaking news and up-to-minute weather information. Known as the Spirit of Texas, WFAA is Fort Worth/Dallas' most honored, experienced and informative television station. News 8 presents promotional and advertising support along with reporting on various activities at the Stock Show.

A longtime major sponsor, GMC is the “Official Truck” of the show and is overall sponsor of the Canadian Chuck Wagon Races at each of the 30 rodeo performances. GMC recently launched the 2007 Sierra – a professional grade, full-size pickup truck delivering refined interior and improved power. These exciting trucks are displayed throughout the Stock Show grounds for visitors to check-out.

An innovative company providing an attractive and durable line of work and casual clothes, Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co has been the official workwear sponsor of the Fort Worth Stock Show since 2002.

Williamson-Dickie began as a small firm producing bib overalls and grew into a company know internationally for a diverse line of products highlighted by quality, durability and value. Dickies offers a variety of work clothes, denim jeans and women’s and children’s garments. The official Stock Show ambassadors, Hoss and Elwood Moos, proudly wear Dickies clothing!

Another long-time major sponsor is the Star-Telegram – the official newspaper of the show. Encouraging youth to explore art with a “western stock show” theme, the newspaper hosts an annual art contest for school children and displays winners’ work in the Richardson-Bass building. Press pass (Star Telegram’s shopping discount program) holders can receive $2 discounts on adult grounds admission and a special $5 discount on all weekday rodeo matinee performances. Star-Telegram reporters report results and write daily feature stories during the Show. While you’re visiting the show, you may even get a chance to see Rusty, the Star-Telegram’s mascot Longhorn steer.

Several other major Stock Show events and exhibits are generously underwritten by corporate friends and include: Calf Scramble – Mrs Baird’s and Justin Boots; Compass Bank Petting Zoo; Coors Cowtown Cutting; “Best of Mexico Celebracion” – Univision and Coors Light; LamaVision (rodeo instant replay screens) – Harris Methodist Hospitals and XTO Energy; Bulls Night Out (PRCA extreme bull riding) – Lone Star Ag Credit; Ranching Heritage Weekend – Western Horseman magazine; Texas Farm Bureau’s Plant Agriculture (interactive agricultural exhibit) – TXU Energy; and Hard Luck Buck (rodeo cowboy recognition) – Warner Stevens, L.L.P.
